The M/S Dalslandia was specially built for the Dalsland canal by Träslövsläge shipyard for the Karlsson family from Källö Knippla. This family owned her until she in 2018 was bought by the Dalslands Kanaltrafik AB (incorporated company of Canal traffic on the Dalsland Canal). The virgin trip took place July 15, 1973 on the Canal.
M/S Dalslandia is approved and certified by the Swedish Maritime Administration according to the ISM code. She was built with accessibility in mind. The waters of the Dalsland Canal are well sheltered, so boat trips can be carried out even in windy weather. M/S Dalslandia is specially built for Dalsland canal. She has a normal speed of 6 knots so she goes calmly and steadily. On 15 July 1973, she made her maiden tour on the canal and was then completely newly built.

Disabled accessible boarding, only on request. Downwards to the restaurant on the lower deck there is a wide staircase with good handrails. The toilets are not adapted for disabled people.
